Cari Dawson Named Among “100 Most Influential Lawyers In America”

Alston & Bird LLP today announced that Cari K. Dawson, a partner in the firm’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group and chair of its class action practice, has been named one of the “100 Most Influential Lawyers in America” by The National Law Journal, one of the most respected legal publications in the country. Ms. Dawson was lauded for her work representing leading international automobile manufacturer Toyota as lead counsel in the economic loss class actions in the Unintended Acceleration (UA) Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Multidistrict Litigation (MDL) pending in the Central District of California. “Charged with defending against the economic-damages portion of hundreds of claims, she reduced Toyota’s exposure by persuading the judge to limit the proposed nationwide class to consumers in only three states,” the publication noted.

The National Law Journal list was chosen by the publication’s editors, aided by nominations from the legal community and research by its reporting staff. Thought leadership, results, media reach and political connections were all key factors in determining a group of national lawyers that The National Law Journal deems law’s “power elite.”

“I am very pleased, but not surprised, that Cari has been included in this prestigious group,” said Alston & Bird Managing Partner Richard Hays. “She has worked diligently her entire career for clients across the nation, and it is fitting for her to be recognized for those efforts and the results she has achieved for her clients.”

The National Law Journal’s “100 Most Influential Lawyers” list was last compiled in 2006.
