Department of Justice Gives Antitrust Clearance to Direct ChassisLink

The U.S. Department of Justice has announced that it will not challenge a proposed agreement between Alston & Bird client Direct ChassisLink Inc. and Flexi-Van Leasing Inc. aimed at easing congestion at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, CA, the country’s two largest marine terminals. The proposed agreement would allow the interchange of chassis among multiple pools managed by the two parties with the goal of enhancing service and productivity.

The Justice Department stated its position in a business review letter, the first such letter to be issued this year by the department’s Antitrust Division.

Direct ChassisLink was represented before the Justice Department by Alston & Bird partner Valarie Williams.
