Alston & Bird has expanded its Intellectual Property Litigation Practice with the addition of David M. Stein as partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. He joins from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, where he was a partner.

Stein has more than 18 years’ experience in patent and commercial litigation. He has brought cases to trial in numerous jurisdictions throughout the country, with a focus on the Eastern District of Texas. He has been involved in major patent cases regarding semiconductor devices and processing, medical devices, sporting goods and various business methods.

He is a frequent lecturer on topics relating to ethics and the legal profession and has taught at Whittier Law School and the University of California, Irvine.
