Janine Brown, partner-in-charge of Alston & Bird’s Atlanta office, has been elected chair of the board of directors of Piedmont Healthcare, a not-for-profit health care system of five hospitals and close to 100 physician and specialist offices across greater Atlanta and North Georgia.
As board chair, Brown will lead the governing body charged with ensuring that the resources of Piedmont Healthcare are used to promote its mission to provide health care of the highest quality and to promote community benefit.
Brown has served on the boards of Piedmont Healthcare and Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in the past decade and was previously vice chair of Piedmont Healthcare’s board.
A member of Alston & Bird’s Corporate & Finance Practice, Brown advises clients across a wide range of domestic and international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance matters and joint ventures and strategic alliances. Her clients represent such industries as technology, media, telecommunications, renewable energy and manufacturing.
In addition to her new role at Piedmont Healthcare, Brown serves on several other boards of directors, including Spelman College, Georgia Justice Project and the Woodruff Arts Center.
