For the sixth consecutive year, general counsel have identified Alston & Bird as a firm that they are willing to bet their reputation on and recommend to their peers.
As reported by BTI Consulting Group in its latest study — BTI Most Recommended Law Firms 2016 — Alston & Bird is one of only 25 firms that have won general counsel endorsements for the past six years in a row out of the 650 core law firms serving large and Fortune 1000 clients.
Among the report’s key takeaways: “Clients trust each other to share only the best with each other – every client knows they will need a recommendation one day, which drives them to follow the unwritten ‘recommend only the best’ code.”
The study’s findings highlight superior client service as the main driver of general counsel recommendations.
Indeed, more than half – 64.5 percent – of corporate counsel in the study said they made law firm recommendations based on superior client service, while only 12.8 percent said they recommended firms based on expertise, the second most common response.
The report further underscores Alston & Bird’s client service leadership and marketplace differentiation, which were highlighted in other recent BTI surveys.
In April, Alston & Bird was singled out by general counsel as one of the most highly regarded law firm brands in the BTI Brand Elite 2016: Client Perceptions of the Best-Branded Law Firms, which found that exemplary client service is the main determinant distinguishing the competitive strength of a law firm’s brand.
And last December, the firm was identified by general counsel as a “client service standout” in the BTI Client Service A-Team 2016, marking the 10th year in a row that Alston & Bird has been singled out for its superior client service and making it one of only 13 law firms nationwide to achieve this distinction.
Now in its 16th year of publication, the BTI Most Recommended Law Firms 2016 relied on in-depth interviews with more than 300 legal decision makers at the world’s leading organizations with more than $1 billion in revenue and spanning more than 16 industries, including financial services, energy and insurance.
