Joseph Baillargeon is an associate with Alston & Bird’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group. Before joining the firm, Joseph worked at the USPTO as a patent examiner where he prosecuted patent applications in the field of electromechanics, including lasers, semiconductor manufacturing devices, microwaves, and associated all control systems.
Joseph also previously worked as a reactor operator and power plant supervisor in the United States Navy where he operated, supervised, and repaired the electrical, mechanical, and electronic control systems of several nuclear reactors through high-pressure casualty situations.
Joseph received his J.D. from Georgetown University where he was a Technology Law & Policy Scholar, as well as a member of the Georgetown Law Technology Review. Joseph received bachelor’s degrees in engineering science and physics, magna cum laude, with a minor in mathematics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
