Defended six patents relating to intravascular blood pumps for client Maquet Cardiovascular LLC against 20 inter partes review challenges brought by Abiomed Inc. All 20 challenges were denied by the PTAB.
Lauren Burrow is a senior associate on Alston & Bird’s Intellectual Property – Chemical Patents Team. Lauren focuses her practice on preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications in polymers, nonwovens, small molecule pharmaceuticals, chemical compositions, medical devices, and wastewater treatment.
In addition to patent prosecution, Lauren represents petitioners and patent owners in inter partes review (IPR) proceedings before the USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board. She conducts research and analysis on infringement, validity, enforceability, patentability, and freedom to operate and conducts due diligence to aid in validity and valuation of patent portfolios. In trademark law, she focuses on domestic and foreign prosecution, trademark clearance investigations, and trademark enforcement matters.
She was named among the most active individual attorneys in PTAB proceedings for 2017 by Managing Intellectual Property.
