Michelle Dowst is a senior associate with Alston & Bird’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group.
Before joining the firm, Michelle worked as a criminal defense trial attorney. She previously served as a law clerk to the Hon. Lisa Godbey Wood in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. Michelle also has experience working on major government and internal investigations as well as commercial disputes. Michelle is a strong negotiator and zealous courtroom advocate.
Michelle earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she participated in the International Human Rights Clinic, the Capital Punishment Clinic, the Negotiation Workshop, and the Trial Advocacy Workshop. She was also a Human Rights Program Summer Fellow with the International Center for Transitional Justice in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She received her B.B.A. in international business and B.A. in international affairs, summa cum laude, from the University of Georgia.
