Michael Detro is a member of the Technology and Privacy & Data Security Teams. Michael focuses his practice on complex technology, commercial, and data privacy and security initiatives. He has represented a range of clients, including financial institutions, technology companies, and restaurants in engagements involving mobile applications, Fintech services, outsourcing, vendor management, strategic and operational initiatives, financing and merger and acquisition transactions, and security and privacy. In particular, the GDPR is a big part of these initiatives leading up to the effective date in May 2018.
Before joining Alston & Bird, Michael was in the Washington, D.C. office of an international law firm and a vice president, corporate counsel at a publicly traded bank holding company.
After graduating law school, Michael clerked for the Honorable Lawrence F. Winthrop and the Honorable Patrick Irvine of the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One.
