Peter Eckrich is a policy advisor in the Washington, D.C. office, focusing his practice on health care matters. Peter supports clients by providing detailed policy analysis through a strategic lens to achieve their goals.
Before joining Alston & Bird, Peter spent five years on Capitol Hill working in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives handling various issues, including health care and appropriations, education, veterans affairs, and regulatory action. He then served as the legislative director of the Health and Human Services Committee at the National Governors Association. In this role, he lobbied Congress and executive agencies to advance organizational priorities, developed consensus principles on federal health policies, and served as a subject-matter expert on issues related to Medicaid, private health insurance policies, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
Peter graduated from St. John’s University with a B.A. in history. He is currently a J.D. candidate at the George Washington University Law School.
