Cassie Johnson focuses her practice on class actions and commercial litigation. Cassie has represented insurers, technology companies, and retailers in breach of contract and data privacy class actions. She has assisted in all phases of litigation, including briefing motions to dismiss, class certification, and summary judgment. Cassie dedicates time to assisting asylum seekers through her pro bono work with the Catholic Legal Immigration Network in their appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals. Cassie is also an active member of the National Association of Women Lawyers. Cassie was recognized in the inaugural “Ones to Watch” list by The Best Lawyers in America© for commercial litigation.
Before joining Alston & Bird, Cassie clerked in the Northern District of California and was an adjunct professor of political science at Foothill College in Silicon Valley. Cassie has been a regular participant in and supporter of the UC Hastings moot court program, where she was a two-time regional champion of the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and named UC Hastings Alumni Coach of the Year.
During law school, Cassie externed for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Environmental Enforcement Section and worked for the California Coastal Commission.
