Joseph Kidd is an associate in Alston & Bird’s Securities Litigation Group. Joe focuses his practice on defending companies and individuals in SEC investigations and enforcement actions, shareholder derivative suits, and securities fraud class actions.
Before joining the firm, Joe worked at a New York law firm litigating cases involving veil piercing, breach of contract, the False Claims Act, patent infringement, fraud, non-payment of loans, and various states’ business regulations. Joe also has experience advising clients on COVID-19 regulations. Before working in law firms, Joe externed for The Coca-Cola Company where he worked on regulatory compliance and risk management matters. He was also a judicial extern for Justice Keith R. Blackwell of the Supreme Court of Georgia.
Joe received his J.D., cum laude, in 2019 from the Emory University School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. In law school, he served as the managing editor of the Emory International Law Review. He received his B.A. in pre-law studies, cum laude, and his B.S. in international relations and affairs, cum laude, from Middle Tennessee State University.
