Chris Mangum concentrates his practice on acquisitions, joint ventures, and international business transactions, both outbound and inbound. On behalf of U.S., European, and Latin American investors, Chris handles acquisitions and joint ventures in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Venezuela, and Vietnam.

Chris has served on the board of directors of numerous companies and has served as an executive for client portfolio companies in the past. This experience gives Chris a business perspective, as well as a legal perspective, in solving clients’ problems.

Chris represents large financial investors and private equity funds in putting together complicated global transactions with a focus on emerging markets.

Chris served for 12 years as the head of the Global Services Committee, which oversees the international practice of Alston & Bird. He received his J.D., with honors, from Duke University Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina.
