Kyle Shannon is a senior associate in Alston & Bird’s Finance Group. He represents institutional lenders in the acquisition, disposition and financing of a broad range of commercial and multifamily residential real estate assets, including the origination and warehousing of whole loans, senior and subordinate mortgage loan interests, mezzanine loans, bridge loans and loan-on-loan financing.
The primary focus of his practice is the negotiation, structuring and servicing of secured lending facilities, including repurchase facilities and structured warehouse facilities. He has experience representing loan sellers in compliance, disclosure and other matters in connection with the aggregation of loans for securitization.
Before joining Alston & Bird, Kyle practiced in the energy sector, where his clients included multinational integrated energy companies, financial institutions and oilfield service providers. He has extensive transactional and advisory experience, including acquisitions and divestitures, farm-ins and farm-outs, joint ventures and mineral and royalty title examination.
Kyle received his J.D. from the University of South Carolina, where he served on the editorial board of the American Bar Association Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Journal. He received his B.A. in English and business administration from the University of South Carolina.
