Tom Shaw is an associate with Alston & Bird’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group. Before joining Alston & Bird, Tom clerked for the Honorable Marc T. Treadwell in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. While serving in this role, Tom worked on a variety of civil and criminal matters and presented at CLE presentations on the topic of ethics for judicial employees.
He earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from the Mercer University School of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Mercer Law Review. During law school, Tom was the recipient of several awards, including the Faculty Legal Writing Award and being named to the Brainerd Currie Honor Society and the National Order of Scribes. Tom also was a member of Mercer’s 2015 intrastate moot court team. Before law school, he received a B.A. in history from the University of Georgia, where he graduated with honors.
