Anna R. Shusterman

• Represented a national bank in the origination of a $90 million floating rate mortgage loan secured by a prominent entertainment and retail complex in Los Angeles.
• Represented a national bank in the workout and restructuring of defaulted acquisition and construction loans secured by several properties located throughout southern Pennsylvania.
• Represented a national bank in the origination of a $75 million mortgage loan secured by a Marriott hotel located in greater Los Angeles and the subsequent sale and securitization of the component notes.
• Represented an investment bank in connection with an acquisition financing of a portfolio of premier office parks located in the eastern United States in excess of $850 million consisting of mortgage loans and several tranches of mezzanine debt and the subsequent modifications, sale and securitization of the individual loans.
• Represented an investment bank in the restructuring of a mortgage loan in excess of $800 million secured by 85 properties located throughout the United States, creation of eight levels of mezzanine loans and the subsequent sale, securitization and syndication of the individual loans.
• Represented a national bank in the origination of a $90 million first mortgage loan secured by an office building located in Downtown Manhattan.
• Represented an investment bank in the origination of a $40 million first mortgage loan for CMBS execution secured by a luxury hotel property in Manhattan.
• Represented a national bank in the origination of a $50 million floating rate mortgage loan secured by a shopping center in Louisville, Kentucky.
• Represented an investment bank in the origination of a $23 million mortgage loan for CMBS execution secured by a luxury mixed-use development located in suburban Columbus, Ohio. The collateral package consisted of fee simple and leasehold estates and included a complex commercial/residential condominium structure.
• Represented an investment bank in the origination of a $22 million mortgage loan for CMBS execution secured by a mixed-use research and educational complex located in suburban Atlanta. The collateral package consisted of fee simple and leasehold estates and included a PILOT bond structure.

Anna Shusterman is counsel in the firm’s Real Estate Group. Her experience includes representing investment banks, commercial banks and other lending institutions in connection with mortgage, mezzanine and preferred equity financing involving various types of collateral, such as shopping centers, office buildings, hotels, condominiums and apartment buildings, including single-asset loans, as well as multi-property/multi-state transactions. She also represents institutional lenders and investors in connection with all aspects of the purchase, sale and syndication of lenders’ mortgage and mezzanine assets. Additionally, Anna has significant experience in the restructuring and workout of commercial mortgage and mezzanine loans.

Anna received her J.D., magna cum laude, in 2005 from New York Law School. She was a Justice John Marshall Harlan Scholar and an associate editor of the New York Law School Law Review. She received her B.S., summa cum laude, in 2000 from City University of New York, John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Anna is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
