Stephen Tagert is an associate with Alston & Bird’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group. Stephen has worked closely with judges in federal trial and appeals courts. Before joining Alston & Bird, Stephen clerked for the Honorable Allison Jones Rushing of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the Honorable Robert E. Payne of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, and the Honorable E. Grady Jolly of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Stephen earned his J.D. from Duke University, where he served as an executive editor of the Duke Law Journal and was a member of the moot court board. He was also a research assistant to professors in the areas of antitrust law and election law. Stephen was also an active investigations case manager for the Duke Law Innocence Project.
Before attending Duke University, Stephen was a litigation paralegal.
