Elliot Watts is an associate in Alston & Bird’s Financial Services & Products Group. He works with clients in the banking and payments industries on issues ranging from mergers and acquisitions to co-branded card programs.
Before joining Alston & Bird, Elliot served as a law clerk to the Hon. Brian J. Davis in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and worked in the corporate governance and legal department for a global financial services firm. Additionally, Elliot spent time in Liberia and South Sudan on development and finance projects aimed at rebuilding the region.
Elliot received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, served as an editor of the Columbia Business Law Review, and was a recipient of the Parker School Recognition of Achievement in International and Comparative Law. He was also awarded a certificate in global business law and governance by the faculties of law at Columbia, Panthéon-Sorbonne (University of Paris I), and Sciences Po. He received his B.A. from Yale University.
