Jamila Williams is an associate in Alston & Bird’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group.
Jamila focuses her practice on complex business litigation and high-stakes cases involving consumer protection statutes in both federal and state courts, including matters involving shareholder and derivative disputes, unfair competition and false advertising, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, unfair debt collections acts, and the False Claims Act.
Jamila received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 2018. During law school, she was an advocate on the Gordon Johnson Appellate Advocacy team and a research assistant to dean and distinguished professor of law Erwin Chemerinsky. She also gained practical experience as a judicial extern for the Honorable Haywood S. Gilliam, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and as a diversity fellow within Fox Group Legal.
Before law school, Jamila earned a B.A. in philosophy and law & society from the University of California, Riverside. She was an active member on campus both as an athlete and captain of the Riverside NCAA Division 1 women’s basketball team as well as the founding president of the Black Law Student Association.
