Donald Zhang is a patent agent in Alston & Bird’s Intellectual Property Patent Prosecution Group. Donald utilizes his extensive background in physics-related technologies, such as semiconductor technologies, display panel technologies, light-emitting diode (LED) manufacturing, optics and laser technologies, and printing technologies to draft and prosecute patent applications for a variety of clients.
Before joining the firm, Donald worked as a patent agent in the DC area after receiving a master’s degree in physics from the University of Virginia. Donald also worked as a research assistant where he worked on atomic physics to design semiconductor lasers, conduct research on microwave ionization of atoms, and develop a novel technique to build a high vacuum system.
