Why did you choose to practice law and how did you decide to practice in your particular area of law?
I enjoy working through complex problems to finding solutions. Being an M&A and securities lawyer allows me to work closely with our clients’ executives and general counsels to grow their respective businesses and achieve critical strategic objectives.
What do you like best about being Hiring Partner?
I enjoy very much meeting new people and getting to know the incredibly talented law students that come through the firm. I also enjoy helping to build Alston & Bird’s future and ensuring that it continues to be a place of talented lawyers who work as a team.
In your opinion, what makes Alston & Bird a great place to work?
Alston & Bird is a place where teamwork is valued and encouraged and very talented lawyers are able to strive for common goals and objectives.
If there was one piece of (career) advice you could provide to a law student, what would it be?
Bring energy and enthusiasm to your work. It will not only help you succeed at specific tasks but it will allow you to take an active role in the management of your own career.
What was the most memorable recruiting experience for you personally as a law student?
One of the firms that I interviewed with had moved office space shortly before my interview and I went to the old building instead of the new. I was able to figure out my mistake but arrived to the interview out of breath and rather disheveled.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy taking my three boys on outdoor adventures and watching their sporting events.
