Alston & Bird Expands Finance Practice with Four New Partners in Dallas

Alston & Bird today announced a significant expansion of its Finance Practice with the hiring of four new partners and four additional attorneys in Dallas. The group brings with it considerable real estate and structured finance experience and in-depth capabilities in domestic and cross-border public and private securitization transactions, floating and fixed-rate portfolio financing, mortgage- and asset-backed securities and loan servicing.

The new partners are Mark Harris, Charles Marshall, Peter McKee and Patrick Sargent. Also joining are three counsel – Michael Jewesson, Jonathan Rini and Karen Wade – and one associate – Bradford Patterson. All join from Andrews Kurth LLP.

Partner Biographies

Mark Harris
Harris focuses on representing issuers, underwriters, sellers, servicers and other participants in connection with domestic and cross-border public and private securitization transactions. He is a member of the Auto Issuer, RMBS Issuer and Outside Counsel Subforums of the American Securitization Forum. He received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.

Charles Marshall
Marshall specializes in real estate finance, including floating and fixed rate portfolio and CMBS financing; A/B and pari-passu loan structures; construction loans; acquisition, financing and sale of performing and non-performing loans and assets; and problem loan workouts. He received his J.D. from University of Texas School of Law.

Peter McKee
McKee focuses on commercial mortgage-backed securities, loan servicing, secondary market transactions, legal risk evaluation methodology, securitized lending, structured finance transactions and various other real estate transactions. He received his J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law.

Patrick Sargent
Sargent concentrates on structured finance, corporate securities and business transactions, including securitization of diverse asset types, collateralized mortgage obligations, pass-through certificates, bond financings and various project and international finance transactions. He is a member of the Board of Governors for the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council. He received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
