Alston & Bird has kicked off a series of webinars for the first and second quarters of this year that will explore in-depth the legislative and regulatory actions that will force operational changes in the banking industry. The release of draft regulatory reform legislation by the Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee is a significant step toward enactment of wide-ranging changes in the regulation of the banking industry. This webinar reviewed the most significant elements in the Chairman's draft, with a particular eye to counterpart provisions in the new House bill.  Washington DC attorneys Dwight Smith, Bill Anaya, Darren Cooper and Christina LaVera addressed the following topics.

  • The prospects for enactment and the likely timetable
