Bruce Pasfield was a featured panelist during the session, "Hollywood vs. Reality: How Environmental Enforcement is really conducted by EPA and the DOJ," at this conference sponsored by the American Bar Association. Bruce's panel took an entertaining look at EPA’s enforcement efforts through the lens of Hollywood movies. The panel reviewed clips from Hollywood movies and TV shows that featured dramatizations of EPA’s enforcement program and contrasted it with real life enforcement efforts by EPA criminal agents. Through the movie clips, the panel introduced important enforcement topics such as parallel proceedings, attorney client privilege, search and seizure, grand jury, and state and federal relations. After introducing each topic through the movie clips, the panel discussed each topic in depth and provided current developments over the last year.
