Joe Yesutis and Mark Williamson will be speaking at this event hosted by Alston & Bird.
Joe and Mark will discuss the potential impact of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 on separate account bank-owned life insurance (BOLI). Many separate account BOLI programs are “wrapped” by third-party “stable value providers.” Under the terms of such wrap agreements, the new tax law may be a triggering event for changes to the rights of the policyholder and financial obligations of the wrap provider. Joe and Mark will review standard wrap agreement terms, the potential impact of the Trump tax legislation, and identify possible courses of action for bank management consistent with regulatory expectations.
