Intellectual Property Litigation partners James Abe and Yuri Mikulka are presenting during the AIPPI Japan Seminar regarding timely issues in IP law.
Yuri Mikulka will lead “Recent Developments in U.S. Trade Secret Law.” As the COVID-19 crisis makes remote work more common and the digital transformation continues to make the management of information important, businesses are faced with difficult questions on how to manage trade secret issues. This session will cover some of the recent legal developments to help protect companies’ trade secrets and unintended receipt or disclosure of confidential information.
James Abe will lead the session “Standard Essential Patents and F/RAND Update.” The enforcement of standard essential patents (SEPs) often involve litigation in multiple countries. In recent years, it has become more challenging to assert patents in the U.S., but the U.S. remains an important forum for enforcing SEPs. This session will cover some of the recent U.S. cases and trends.
