Effective informal feedback is critical to development, growth, and advancement of anyone’s career. Yet, without intentional focus on ensuring continuous, year-round feedback for all, differences between people can sometimes create unintentional variances in how people provide informal feedback. In this session, we will explore the research illustrating these differences, practical suggestions for feedback providers on how to neutralize these differences, and general ideas on how everyone can contribute to a workplace where there is effective feedback for all. Dr. Reeves will specifically address the various biases that can hinder effective feedback and what specifically attorneys must do to disrupt those biases and deliver fair, candid, clear, and timely feedback.
