Although medical and recreational marijuana remain illegal at the federal level, an increasing number of states across the country have legalized or decriminalized marijuana, creating a conflict with federal drug laws. We will discuss the distinction between marijuana legalization and decriminalization, new and emerging state laws, and potential challenges employers may encounter as they enforce drug testing and drug-free workplace policies.

Over the past few years, state and local governments have passed numerous new laws for the purpose of promoting pay equity and transparency in the workplace.
