Mark Kanaly was quoted in an Atlanta Journal-Constitution article discussing how banks are facing a second wave of fiscal crisis, this one due to loans on empty commercial properties. Kanaly called commercial real estate “absolutely the next body blow” for banks, and continued, “I’m hearing from a number of different banks that their commercial real estate portfolio has become a problem, and regulators are taking a strong look at it.”
“It’s going to be a wave of trouble.”
