Ryan Koppelman, partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, was quoted in a Daily Journal article discussing Intellectual Ventures I LLC et al v. Motorola Mobility LLC, in which Intellectual Ventures filed several patent infringement law suits against Google Inc.’s smartphone subsidiary Motorola.
“If you’re a lawyer [for serial plaintiffs] you want the time for a defendant to prepare to be as short as possible…people making investments in patents prefer to have those investments pay off sooner rather than later,” Koppelman said.
