Chair of Alston & Bird’s Sustainability Committee Peter Masaitis was featured in a recent ABA Journal piece discussing the Law Firm Sustainability Network (LFSN), of which Alston & Bird is a founding member. The network, which now counts more than 30 registered members, is looking to become the go-to source for all things sustainable in the legal industry.
"For many of the LFSN member firms that participated in the pilot run of the program, it was an eye-opener to see how many different initiatives could be taken on with little additional effort," said Masaitis, who serves as the network’s president.
Masaitis also noted that new members often join looking for ways to be environmentally responsible with paper, only to be pleasantly surprised by the significant cost savings of “green” practices. "There are so many ways to conserve paper that are easy to implement," he said, "but many firms have not. A simple example is shrinking the margin size on document templates."
