Alston & Bird Expands Los Angeles Real Estate Practice

Alston & Bird LLP today announced that David Revelt has joined its Real Estate Finance & Investment Group as a transactional counsel in the firm’s Los Angeles office.

“We are excited to welcome David to our Los Angeles team,” said Thomas Wingard, partner-in-charge of Alston & Bird’s Los Angeles office. “David’s addition will not only bolster our real estate practice, but will further solidify our ability to provide exemplary service to our clients.”

Revelt brings over a decade of experience advising clients on all aspects of real estate, financing and corporate transaction matters, including loan origination, foreclosures, leasing, licensing and joint venture arrangements. He has negotiated agreements and assisted numerous real estate developers with acquiring, entitling and developing real property assets, including associated financings.

In addition to real estate, Revelt has considerable experience in renewable energy markets and comes to Alston & Bird from Solar Electric Solutions, LLC, where he was the director of development. In that role, he spearheaded the expansion of a 100-mw pipeline of utility-scale solar photovoltaic generating facilities in southern California, Arizona and Georgia. Revelt is also the owner of Antelope Valley Solar, LLC, a solar power development company specializing in wholesale distribution.

“David is a stellar attorney with a very unique background,” said Gerard Keegan, co-chair of Alston & Bird’s Real Estate Finance & Investment Group. “His experience in the real estate and renewable energy markets makes him a truly versatile asset to the firm.”

Revelt serves as President of the Grid Alternatives of Greater Los Angeles, a non-profit dedicated to installing solar systems on low-income households, and is also a member of the American Solar Energy Society, Caltech/MIT Enterprise Forum and California Bar Association. He earned a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley (1999), a J.D. from Stanford Law School (1999) and a B.A. from Yale University.
