Suhaib Al-Ali has over a decade of experience and focuses his practice on international commercial and investment arbitration. He has represented corporations, investors, and state entities on large-scale and complex arbitrations. He has experience over a diverse range of sectors including oil & gas, post-M&A disputes, construction, and telecommunications.
Suhaib represents clients under the ICC, ICSID, PCA, DIAC, ECA, and CRCICA arbitral rules. He has also acted as an arbitrator in commercial disputes under the ICC rules and regularly acted as a tribunal secretary under the ICC and DIAC rules.
Before practicing international arbitration law, Suhaib served as a legal advisor for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Beirut. Suhaib also counseled refugees on their rights under the 1951 Refugee convention and compiled applications for resettlement to third-party nations.
Suhaib earned his master of laws from the University of Chicago. Suhaib also earned his L.L.B from King’s College London and a licence-en-droit from the Université Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne in a dual program.
