Mustafa Almusawi is an associate in Alston & Bird’s Financial Services & Products Group. Mustafa advises registered investment companies, investment advisers, fund boards and their trustees on all matters arising under the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, and other federal securities laws.
Mustafa received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. During law school, he served as a legal assistant for the Federal Judicial Center’s research division and as a legal intern for the Investment Company Institute. He was also a legal intern for the House Committee on Oversight and Reform’s Subcommittee on Economic & Consumer Policy, supporting investigations led by Chairman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL). Before law school, Mustafa worked as a legal intern at a law firm representing clients seeking asylum.
