Kate Carter is an associate in Alston & Bird’s Financial Services & Products Group and a member of the firm's Investment Funds Team. She focuses her practice on advising investment fund clients. Kate represents a variety of funds on a broad range of matters, including registration, compliance, and day-to-day management.
Kate earned her J.D. from the Duke University School of Law, where she was an executive editor of the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law and Public Policy and a research editor of the Duke Environmental Law and Policy Forum. She received a B.A. in the classics and a B.S. in biology from Davidson College, where she was an athlete on the swimming and diving team. Before law school, Kate taught Latin at a middle school in Charlotte.
