Kate Carter is an associate in Alston & Bird’s Real Estate Group who focuses her practice in commercial real estate finance. Kate represents lenders and servicers within a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, from commercial mortgage loan originations and restructurings to special servicing and master servicing matters.
Kate earned her J.D. from the Duke University School of Law, where she was an executive editor of the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law and Public Policy and a research editor of the Duke Environmental Law and Policy Forum. She received a B.A. in the classics and a B.S. in biology from Davidson College, where she was an athlete on the swimming and diving team. Before law school, Kate taught Latin at a middle school in Charlotte.
