A transportation client sought our help to automate their quarterly reporting on lawsuits and related legal matters. Under their old system’s design, they were inundated with information and had no time to read or analyze the reports—just manually catalog them. Consequently, they were unable to assess the full scope of their activities or identify opportunities for improvement.

Alston & Bird built the client a solution to help them analyze and manage their portfolio of labor matters, with the goal of preventing budget overages. What’s more: we designed a proactive component to help the client drive down their legal spend by identifying the most problematic regions/warehouses. We then worked proactively with them to modify procedures and conditions in those locations, reducing their risk profile.
A solution built to evolve with client needs.
The client realized monetary value immediately. Cost savings for the report submission feature alone saved $60,000/year in manual labor. What began as a matter-tracking tool evolved into a data analytics and visualization platform, complete with easy-to-scan dashboards. With structured data on demand, Alston and the client could prioritize and address “hot spots” with greater ease. We also provided additional HR support by developing programs to help better train the client’s team.
