Widely regarded as one of the financial industry’s premier M&A conferences, Bank Director’s 20th annual “AOBA” explored issues such as strategic alliances, investors’ interests and whether now is the right time to be a buyer (or a seller). This January 26-27, 2014 conference, put together by BankDirector.com and sponsored in part by Alston & Bird, featured Alston & Bird attorneys Mark KanalyRandy Moore and Cliff Stanford as speakers.

Randy and Cliff were featured speakers during the session "How to Win Regulatory Approval for Your Deal in a Dynamic Environment" on January 26 (3:30 p.m. to 4:20 p.m). This session discussed the current changing regulatory landscape and its impact on M&A. The presenters shared formalities and “learned experiences” for how to position your deal for success with the regulators in today’s regulatory environment.

Randy Moore focuses his practice on the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and related strategic matters, with a particular emphasis on financial services companies. Cliff Stanford is a member of the firm’s bank regulatory and payments system practices, providing expert advice and strategic counsel to US and foreign banks and non-bank financial services companies on a full array of regulatory concerns affecting the banking, financial services, and payments industries.

  

Mark KanalyMark was a featured speaker during the session "Point/Counterpoint Debate" on January 27 (3:35 p.m. to 4:25 p.m). This session featured top investment bankers as they square off against leading attorneys to debate the merits of recent banking trends and what lies ahead.

Mark is a partner in the firm's Financial Services & Products Group, focusing on the representation of banks and other financial institutions, as well as real estate investment vehicles, such as REITs.
