This workshop will focused on borrower and lender considerations for defaulted mortgage loans. Discussions included various methods to work out a defaulted loan. The workshop also focused on key topics such as pre-negotiation letters, default letters and forbearance agreements, as well as strategic decision-making from both the lender’s and the borrower’s perspective, as to whether to seek a loan restructure, foreclosure, deed-in-lieu of foreclosure or a discounted pay-off.
