We know that as our world navigates the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath, lawyers are dealing with more unknowns than usual, both personally and professionally. The uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus has heightened lawyers’ mental and emotional stress, making it more challenging than ever to adhere to professionalism as described in the Lawyer’s Creed and in the Aspirational Statement on Professionalism. In these unprecedented times, lawyers need new tools to help them stay resilient, support their mental health and well-being, and overcome obstacles to professionalism.

Speaker

Laura Mahr, Esq. created Conscious Legal Minds to help lawyers love their work and their lives. She teaches cutting-edge mindfulness and neuroscience tools to build resilience to burnout, stress, and compassion fatigue in the practice of law. After 13 years of practicing law as a civil sexual assault attorney, Laura brought herself back from the brink of burnout with the tools she now teaches. Based in Asheville, NC, Laura is a North Carolina and Oregon lawyer and coaches and trains nationally on lawyer well-being.
