What does it mean to effectively serve on the board of a nonprofit corporation? Join us for an interactive session where we’ll discuss the various roles of a board member, including governance. We’ll discuss information that board members of nonprofits need to know to exercise effective governance and financial oversight. We’ll review the various roles that a board member of a nonprofit must fulfill, including setting strategic direction, hiring the chief executive, and assuring that funding is available for the mission.
The workshop will be led by Terri Theisen, a nonprofit board effectiveness expert skilled at illustrating the material through real-world examples. This program will include real-life experiences from an experienced nonprofit board member and participants will engage with one another through analysis of a case study about nonprofit board experience.
