This program will cover numerous issues facing diagnostic laboratories. Specifically, diagnostic labs must routinely deal with state and federal privacy and HIPAA issues surrounding their use of patient test data. In addition, we will discuss the VALID act’s impact on laboratory-developed tests. Finally, the program will touch on common patent prosecution issues faced by diagnostic labs in securing patent protection for their tests.
