Volunteers; Tripping up the Truancy Trap; Advocates Aim to Keep Youth on Right Path

Terry Walsh, a partner in the Alston & Bird Trial Practice Group organized the
Truancy Intervention Project (TIP) in 1992 to assist in combating the many outside problems contributing to the truancy problem in Atlanta. The success of TIP, with 225 volunteer lawyers and lay persons, has spawned a joint effort between the Atlanta Bar Association and the Fulton County Juvenile Court to coordinate funding for the project.
