Anne Wallace is quoted in the April 1, 2002 HR Focus article, "Has your company hired a corporate privacy officer yet?" She comments that privacy officers were not common a few years ago and that the increase in hiring has been a direct effect of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the privacy regulations issued by HIPAA in 1999.
