William Jordan was quoted in an April 13 article in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution titled, “Lobbyist probe sparks loophole look.” The article discusses an investigation that was recently opened by the State Ethics Commission of Georgia to examine reports that lobbyist, Willie Green gave a legislator $80,000 last year. There is no limit on lobbyist expenditures for elected officials; however lobbyists are required to disclose their transaction to the commission and Green did not. Jordan hesitated to advocate policy changes, because he is an appointed official, but he said, “it’s reasonable for the Legislature to consider a spending cap on lobbyists’ expenditures.”
