Alston & Bird E-Connects with Nonprofits

The electronic avenues by which we can interact with each other, and the speed with which technology now allows us to communicate in real time, have forever altered the way in which organizations dedicated to the service of others can promote their mission, recruit volunteers, solicit donations and provide valuable information across the globe. In the wake of this ever-evolving phenomenon of social media, representatives from 32 nonprofits recently attended a cutting-edge summit led by Alston & Bird associate Pamela Lina and Michael Hendrix of The Precise Agency Group. The program focused on novel and expanded uses of social networking tools, incorporating specific tactics that can be used to increase the online presence of nonprofits. The presentation uniquely highlighted legal issues and things to be considered when utilizing social media marketing tools, while also providing updates on FTC guidelines.
