Maureen Gorsen Quoted in Los Angeles Times on CA Toxicity Study

California Gov. Jerry Brown has authorized a three-year, $5 million study on the possible toxicity of “priority products” such as fishing gear with the potential to ban lead tackle in the state.

“What is the scientific reasoning for including fishing equipment?” asked Maureen Gorsen, partner in Alston & Bird’s Environmental & Land Use Group and former director of California’s Department of Toxic Substances Control. “It’s like throwing darts on a board.”
