In its 2016 survey of the “Top 100 Adoption-Friendly Workplaces” by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Alston & Bird ranks No. 19 overall and No. 2 among professional services firms.
Alston & Bird employees are reimbursed up to $10,000 per adopted child and receive up to 18 weeks of parental leave. There is no limit on the number of adoptions that can be covered in a year or career. In addition, the firm offers counseling services and referral programs to help employees through the adoption process.
Since 2007, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption has compiled an annual list of the top adoption-friendly workplaces. Listed companies are determined by an analysis of financial assistance and paid leave for families who adopt, based on surveys completed by employers.
