Continuing a streak that began in 1999, Alston & Bird has once again been honored in the annual survey of America’s “100 Best Companies to Work For® – marking the 18th year in a row that the firm has been recognized nationally for its high-trust culture and commitment to workplace excellence.
“We strive to be a great place for great people to do great work,” said Richard Hays, Alston & Bird managing partner. “Our people are the essence of who we are and what we do, and there is nothing more critical than taking care of them so that they may thrive and continue to develop, deliver and support the exceptional service that our clients experience every day.”
Now in its 20th year, the survey ranks the firm No. 65. As in prior years, Alston & Bird is one of only a handful of law firms recognized in the rankings.
Conducted in partnership with Great Place to Work®, the survey canvassed Alston & Bird employees across a broad range of categories, including: culture, worker engagement, fairness and talent development. Almost 700 people responded, with 94 percent saying the firm is a great place to work.
“Success is a team sport, and it starts with a culture of trust, mutual respect and empowerment,” said Cathy Benton, Alston & Bird chief human resources officer. “That we have earned the honor 18 years in a row is a testament to our extraordinary people and a remarkable winning streak in which we all can take tremendous pride.”
In addition to this ranking, Alston & Bird has received a number of other recent accolades highlighting the firm’s distinctive culture, including:
- Earning WorldatWork’s “Work-Life 2017 Seal of Distinction,” the only AmLaw 50 firm to be honored among more than 100 companies nationally for their approach to employee engagement and success in creating a positive work environment.
- Receiving a top rating of 100 percent in the Human Rights Campaign’s 2017 “Corporate Equality Index,” which measures commitment to LGBT workplace equality, the 13th consecutive year that the firm has earned a perfect score.
- Achieving placement in the 2016 survey of the “100 Best Workplaces for Women,” the second time the firm has been recognized as a great place to work for women.
“Congratulations to the 2017 100 Best,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “These leading companies are at the vanguard of a new business frontier, where organizations know they have to develop the full human potential of all their employees. They are working to build Great Places to Work For All, which are better for business, better for people and better for the world."
