Jeff Tsai, Alston & Bird partner and leader of the firm’s State Attorneys General Team, has been appointed by the State Bar of California Board of Trustees to serve on the Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation (JNE Commission) for 2017-2018.
The JNE Commission assists the California governor in the judicial selection process, promoting a state judiciary of quality and integrity by providing independent, comprehensive, accurate, and fair evaluations of candidates for judicial appointment and nomination.
In addition to leading Alston & Bird’s State Attorneys General Team, Tsai plays a key role in the firm’s Government & Internal Investigations Team, representing clients in complex civil and criminal enforcement matters brought by state and federal agencies. He is a former special assistant attorney general of California, serving as a senior member of then-California Attorney General Kamala Harris’s executive management team. He also served as a federal prosecutor for nearly eight years.
