Jonathan Edwards Named a “40 Under 40” Honoree by American Bankruptcy Institute

Jonathan Edwards, partner in Alston & Bird’s Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring Group, has been recognized as an emerging leader by the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) with its “40 Under 40” award, which identifies the 40 top industry professionals under age 40.

Selected for the honor from more than 200 nominees nationwide based on his professional accomplishments and community leadership, Edwards represents clients in complex bankruptcy cases, workouts, debt restructurings, distressed acquisitions and dispositions, and commercial litigation.

The ABI recognition is Edwards’ most recent professional achievement. This year he was named to The Best Lawyers in America© for 2019 for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law and recognized for Bankruptcy/Restructuring Law in Georgia in the 2018 edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. In 2017, he received the M&A Advisor’s “Emerging Leaders Award” for his contributions to the turnaround industry.

Founded in 1982 to provide Congress and the public with unbiased analysis of bankruptcy issues, ABI comprises nearly 11,000 attorneys, accountants, bankers, judges, and other professionals and is the largest multidisciplinary, nonpartisan organization dedicated to research and education on insolvency-related matters.
